An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an inspiration to numerous Asian actors who wish to be successful in Hollywood. Her new-found fame was translated into roles on the big screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. Her performance was outstanding in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In this period she also acted as the lead in several flops in the field such as Rise: Blood Hunter.
